PodCards are free audio postcards you can download and play on your computer, mp3 player or burn to a CD. They contain information about towns or cities from different countries and biographies of famous people or events that make these places famous. BBC Skillswise
The Skillswise site provides factsheets, worksheets, quizzes and interactive games to help adults improve their language, literacy and numeracy skills. It also has section containing ideas for Tutors and allows students to showcase their written texts. Teachers and students can register for regular newsletters.

I read him almost every day.
The Common Craft Show - this is a terrifc collection of short videos about podcasting, RSS, social networking, wikis and many more. Worth a look and the videos are easy to embed in wikis, blogs, LMS.
Designing for flexible learning practice - this site is a fabulous example of how a wiki has been used to deliver course content. From Otago Polytechnic in new Zealand.

http://www.zamzar.com - This is a free online file converter. If you find you need to convert a file from a word doc to a pdf and you dont have Adobe Acrobat you can use this web2 tool. .

No, not really , I suggest to get a delicious account ,it is free. This is another resource I'd like to add to this page. What is delicious - watch this video? This page also tells you a bit more how to use delicious. While you are there you could add Sue Water's wiki to your favorites, a fantastic website for e-facilitators, lots of information and how to's.

Following are 2 programs that I use to download videos from You Tube and Teacher Tube. They convert the videos into an iPod suitable format so I can upload them to my iPod via iTunes. I can then view videos on the iPod itself or show them to a class by connecting the iPod to a laptop and LitePro.
1) “Total Video Converter” – This program cost me $45.00 (Aust.) and I use it to download videos from Teacher Tube. If you don’t want to put your credit card details on the net see the Virtual VisaCard which I used, below.

This site offers trials of both online SMS and email based SMS. Other free services are available (google search). The service we use is internal and paid for by the college. How it works: Create your group first e.g. ‘ofc’, add your contacts and at the same time add them to this group. Select your group, type your message once and then send it to the group (similar to sending an email). I use online SMS to send text messages to my f2f students welcoming them to their first class with a reminder of where and when the class will be (usually I send this ½ hr before commencement). I also use it to remind students of room changes such as classes to be held in the IT lab or library. Tips: I always ensure students have completed an approval form before sending any SMS messages. I also ask students not to reply to messages as it will cost them to do so. I also start each message with BRIT – so they know who it is from. Helen
